Ever wonder what it would be like to capture the sun?
Well... that might be a little difficult, but one sure can try!

A few years ago, we decided to storm the attic and see what family history we could find. While sifting through old notebooks and papers from the early 1900's, we miraculously stumbled upon a series of journals describing daily life on the farm. Not quite like the tales of Laura Ingalls Wilder, but we found them intriguing none-the-less. Weather reports, rotation of crops, and family news all flitted across the pages, but one word jumped out over and over—SUNDOG. Sundog? Never heard of it.

Looking around the room, no one had any idea what it meant, so we decided who better to ask than grandma. She told us her mom used the word to refer to a partial rainbow. On cold mornings, where there was just a bit of frost hanging in the air, they could look up and see small arcs of light like miniature rainbows circling the sun. Despite the cold weather conditions it took to produce such a phenomenon,

I'm sure it was a sight to behold.

Fast forward a few generations from the farm to the present day...
